Lauren McCart has returned to Suffolk softball’s coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in 2019 after taking a three-year hiatus. She begins her fifth overall season in 2022.

McCart’s tenure with Ram Nation begin in 2014 as Jaclyn Davis’ graduate assistant. Her focus was tactical, concentrating on the outfield, as well as hitting, speed, agility and base running.

With her on the staff as a GA, Suffolk made the GNAC Tournament field in 2014 and upstaged that performance a year later as the conference regular season crown in the postseason field. Additionally, the Rams took their talents to the ECAC Tournament in 2015 as well.

Throughout her four seasons on the bench, McCart has coached a pair NFCA All-Northeast selections and 18 all-conference honorees (4 CCC / 14 GNAC)

Prior to coaching, McCart spent four seasons on the diamond for Bryant. In 159 games played in the outfield, the right assembled 91 hits, 18 for extra bases, on a .232 batting average. As a senior in 2012, she was voted the Omar Shareef Award recipient, a voted on by Bryant’s student-athletes for traits that best exemplify Omar Shareef’s – outgoing, adaptable, sincere, athletic and spirited. That year she was also the Bulldog Award honoree for softball.

McCart graduated from Bryant with a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing in 2012 and completed her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2015.
