Janelle Mayo is in her second season as an assistant coach of the softball team in 2017.

Mayo was apart of a historic 2016 season that saw the Rams record the most vicotries in program-history, 33, and capture their second-straight GNAC regular-season title. Six student-athletes picked up all-conference accolades including first-team selection freshman Jill Pulek. Pulek also grabbed a spot on the All-NFCA first-team, while sophomore Delaney Sylvester picked up third -team NFCA recogntion.  

Mayo joins the Suffolk staff after spending the last two years as the pitching coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology. On the field, she was responsible for the skill development of the pitching staff and infield. Her off field responsibilities included monitoring student-athletes athletic progress. Alongside her responsibilities at Fitchburg, Mayo will work with the Worcester Hawks as assistant coach and pitching coach.

Prior to Wentworth, Mayo worked with the pitching staff at Fitchburg State in 2012. With the Falcons she helped develop the pitching staff physical and psychological fitness and fostered a culture of good sportsmanship, cooperation and responsibility.

A native of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Mayo earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology in May 2011 from Curry College.
