Rylee Hehir begins her second year as a Graduate Assistant in Suffolk’s Athletic Department in the fall of 2021 where she will assist Jaclyn Davis on the softball staff.

On top of her coaching responsibilities, and studies in Integrated Marketing Communication, Hehir will also aid the department in various areas including student-athlete academic support.

In her first season on Davis' coaching staff, Hehir was part of a historic season as Suffolk moved into the CCC. Limited to just 29 games due to heavy COVID-19 restrictions and pod-style play, the Rams built a 12-17 overall record and went 6-7 versus their new conference counterparts. Four student-athletes etched their names in the record books as the first to take home All-CCC accolades in Ally Cifaratta (first-team), Caitlin Murphy (second-team), Ashley Zulla (second-team) and Savannah Scripter (third-team).

Hehir brought her talents to Boston after a standout, four-year career at St. Bonaventure. The right-handed twirler left her mark on the Bonnies program, ranking in the top ten in strikeouts (sixth; 159), appearances (seventh; 71), innings pitched (eighth; 271.2), starts (eighth; 47) and wins (ninth; 14) even with her senior season being called due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 St. Bonaventure Athletics Bonnie Award nominee garnered the St. Bonaventure Athletics Rising Star Award in 2018 and was tabbed to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll as a senior.

The Putnam, Connecticut’s coaching experience started up in 2016 as a private pitching and hitting instructor where she provided instruction to youth athletes on the proper techniques of the game, making Suffolk her first collegiate coaching gig.

She is no stranger to the operations of athletics as she served as an Assistant Director of Baseball Operations for the Newport Gulls over the 2019 season. In her roll she aided to game-day planning, sponsorship events, overall marketing, as well as distribution of game-day programs and social media content.

Hehir earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from St. Bonaventura in 2020.
