Nichols Eliminates Softball from CNE Tournament, 4-0

DUDLEY, Mass. – Suffolk softball saw its 2025 season come to an end Thursday morning as the fifth-seeded Rams were blanked by second seed Nichols, 4-0, an elimination outing in the Conference of New England Tournament at the Bison's Softball Field.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Nichols 4
RECORDS: Suffolk (16-22) | Nichols (30-12)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Nichols broke the scoring open in the top of the fourth. With the bases full on a hit by pitch, Rams' error and a walk, Kyla Felicani singled to center to bring the first run in on the day. A two-run stand-up double by Alyssa Pericello followed, before Suffolk made a change in the circle. Lily Newhall got the second out of the stanza with a backwards K, but Ava Slanisky singled to short to plate Felicani and extend the edge to 4-0.

Newhall kept the Bison at bay the rest of the way, but the Rams offense never got going as well. Suffolk's best chance came with its back against the wall in the bottom of the seventh as Julia Mills and Avery Carvalho knocked base hits. The blue-and-gold was unable to muster a late rally, however, to suffer the season-ending shutout.
