BOSTON – Suffolk softball has back-to-back doubleheaders in store this weekend with a trip to Endicott on tap Tuesday, April 15 with Curry set to stop by East Boston Wednesday, April 16. Both outings have a 3:00 p.m. game one first pitch.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball's bats exploded for 15 hits, including four extra-base knocks, en route to a 12-2, six-inning victory over Gordon in game two of a Conference of New England (CNE) twinbill.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk softball swept the University of New England and Gordon to move to .500 (10-10) on the year and start CNE action 4-0.  

Julia Mills (21 H, 14 RBI, 9 R, 5 SB) and Catherine Carignan (27 H, 12 RBI, 14 R, 7 SB) have been the top bats for the Rams' 81-run offense. Lily Gustafson (17 H, 12 R, 11 BB, 5 SB), Ava Brandow (15 H), Lily Newhall (15 H, 9 R) and Diana Rucinski (10 H) have supplied double digit hits to the offense.  

Newhall (59.1 IP, 28 K, 3.30 ERA) and Cynthia Rucinski (46.1 IP, 29 K, 3.78 ERA) have been the usual starters for Suffolk in the circle. Ella Turnbull has assembled a staff-best 0.66 ERA over 10.2 innings with 10 punchouts to her credit.  

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS 
Endicott split a doubleheader with Roger Williams Friday to move to 11-7 on the season and 5-1 in CNE contests.  

The Gulls offense is well-balanced with six bats with double digit RBIs. Elyse Saccoccio has a team-best 21 hits with 10 RBI and 18 runs scored. Christian Nowicki, who has scored a team-high 20 times, has 19 knocks to her credit along with 11 RBI. Abby McCaliflin has also produced 19 hits as well as 15 runs and 11 RBI. Chloe Shapleigh has pitched in 15 hits, 19 RBI and scored 10 times. 

Kristen Beebe (34.0 IP, 2.68 ERA, 43 K), Jaylin Couton (34.0 IP, 3.91 ERA, 35 K) and Analise Grady (34.2 IP, 2.63 ERA, 29 K) are the usual starting pitchers for the Gulls.  

INSDIE THE SERIES

• The Rams are 7-15 all-time against the Gulls. 
• The blue-and-gold split its doubleheader at Endicott a year ago. It won game one, 4-2, and fell in game two, 9-1, in six innings.
• Six of the seven Rams' victories have come when playing the Gulls on the road, 6-11. 
• Six of the 20 battles between Suffolk and Endicott have been determined via shutout. 
• The last shutout between Suffolk and Endicott was a 9-0, five-inning Suffolk setback April 26, 2023. 
• The Rams are 2-4 in shutouts against the Gulls. 
• One game between Suffolk and Endicott needed extra time to determine a winner, game two of a double feature April 7, 2021.

STATS SHOWDOWN

COLONELS CATCHUP
Curry has fallen in three straight to dip to 10-12 on the year and 3-5 in CNE contests. Prior to facing Suffolk Wednesday, the Colonels are scheduled to take on Nichols Tuesday.  

Morgan Barmash has barreled 20 hits, including six doubles, to anchor the Colonels effort at the dish with a team-best nine RBI to go along with seven runs scored. Abby Greene is a usual in the offensive conversation for Curry with 10 hits, eight RBI, three runs scored and eight stolen bases. Natalia O'Kleasky rounds out the top trio at the plate with 16 hits, seven RBI and eight runs scored.  

Jillian Rogers has taken on the bulk of the work load on the rubber. In 61.0 innings she has struck out 90 batters and boasts a 0.92 ERA. Caitlyn Wood (24.1 IP, 14 K, 3.74 ERA), Barmash (23.2 IP, 6 K, 3.25 ERA) and Jenelle Munoz (23.0 IP, 12 K, 7.00 ERA) have all seen over 20.0 innings in the circle.
