
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Suffolk softball's bats were limited by the twirling of Sharks' Piper Kinney and the Rams fell to Simmons, 6-1, in game one of a doubleheader at Daly Field Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Julia Mills singled to center field to score Diana Rucinski in the third frame to put the first run on the day on the board. Diana Rucinski opened the game with a full-count walk, stole second and put on her running shoes for Mills' base hit.
Three innings later, the Sharks stormed back with six runs on six hits and pair of blue-and-gold fielding mishaps to put the Rams in a 6-1 hole.
Suffolk was unable to make up any ground in the top of the seventh as the Rams went down in order, which kept it a five-run deficit as the final.
PITCHERS PICTURE
- Cynthia Rucinski gave up six runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 6.0 innings.
- Kinney earned the win behind a one-run, one-hit, one-walk, eight-strikeout, complete-game effort.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Mills was responsible for Suffolk's only hit. The sophomore also brought in the Rams' lone run.
- Diana Rucinski scored the blue-and-gold's only run and drew one base on balls. The senior also swiped one base.
