LEESBURG, Fla.– Suffolk softball was limited to just four hits, while Westminster scored early and often to hand the Rams a 6-2 setback Friday afternoon at Sleepy Hollow at The Spring Games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Westminster nearly batted around in the first frame to build a four-run distance early.
That margin grew to six with a pair of runs on a pair of hits in the Titans next turn at the plate.
Suffolk managed to break on the board in the fourth. Julia Mills led off the inning with a single to short before she turned her wheels on to push the Rams on the board. Ashley Hubner took Turnbull's spot on the bag. The freshman pinch runner swiped third before scoring on a wild pitch to trim the gap down to four.
Rams' reliever Cynthia Rucinski limited the Titans bat to just one hit the rest of the way, but Suffolk's scoring stopped after the fourth for the 6-2 final.
PITCHERS PICTURE
- Lily Newhall took the loss after giving up six runs on six hits and two walks over 1.1 innings.
- Rucinski put together 3.0 innings of scoreless relief with just one hit allowed and one strikeout to her credit.
- Bella Rocha-Medeiros shoved 1.2 frames of scoreless, hitless relief. The sophomore walked two batters.
- Madison Brown twirled a two-run, four-hit, one-walk, six-strikeout performance over 6.0 innings.
- Jenna Boneysteele closed the action in the circle for the Titans and had one punchout in the final frame, a scoreless, hitless outing.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Turnbull turned in a 2-for-3 effort with one double. She was responsible for Suffolk's lone RBI.
- Mills and Catherine Carignan rounded out the Rams with hits with one each.
- Hubner and Mills scored one run apiece to Suffolk's offense.
- Hubner went 1-for-1 on the base paths.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk and Westminster met for the third time in program history.
- All three of the Rams battles with the Titans have taken place at a neutral diamond.
- Turnbull tied a personal-best two hits.
- Carignan, Mills and Turnbull supplied hits to both of Suffolk's games this season.
- Cynthina Rucinski notched a personal-best in innings pitched (3.0), strikeouts (1), and batters faced (11).
- Hubner has scored one run in both of Suffolk's games this year.

Suffolk is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, March 9 when it is set to take on Simpson and Mitchell at Fortune Road. The contests are one after another stating at 11:45 a.m.
