BOSTON – For the first time in Suffolk softball history multiple Rams have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors as Ira BociAshlyn ConleyAlly CifarattaCaitlin Murphy and Lily O'Neil were all recognized by the national work in the classroom for their combined athletic and academic efforts.

Awarded by CSC, formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), to the most accomplished student-athletes for combined academic and athletic achievements each year since 1952, this is the longest-running and most prestigious academic and athletic award for student-athletes to receive.

The 2023 Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. All nominees must have a GPA of at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), be a starter or important reserve, and have competed in at least 50 percent of a team's competition.

It is just the third time in Suffolk softball program history that a student-athlete earned the distinction, first since Taylor Holmes garnered the accolade in 2018. With the five awards this season, the Rams' softball program has seen seven student-athletes in their history pick up the feat.

Suffolk was one of six members of the Commonwealth Coast Conference to be featured on the list of 905 NCAA Division III. The Rams were the only CCC program to have the maximum number (5) of student-athletes recognized. Endicott and Wentworth both had four, while Curry (3), Nichols (3) and the University of New England (1) were featured on the list as well.

With the addition of Boci (3.668 GPA), Conley (3.590 GPA), Cifaratta (3.961 GPA), Murphy (3.940 GPA) and O'Neil (3.983). Suffolk now has 54 academic all-district accolades in its history from CSC dating back to 2004, 43 of which come in the last seven seasons including 30 in 2022-23 alone.
