BOSTON – Suffolk softball senior standout Taylor Holmes has been tabbed a nominee for HeroSports.com DIII Softball Pitching HERO of the Week. The nomination comes on the heels of a 2-0 week in which the RHP put together a 1.08 ERA through 13.0 innings in a pair of starts. 

Fans can vote for Holmes every hour in the poll here until it closes Friday, 23 at 11 a.m. 

The reigning GNAC Corvias Pitcher of the Week combined two victories in back-to-back outings at the Spring Games last week. She earned her first win in the circle with a complete-game, one-run, five-hit, one-walk, three-strikeout effort in a 5-1 triumph over Bethany before improving to 2-0 on the season with a 4-2 win over Gordon. In 6.0 innings, she gave up just two runs on five hits and one walk and sat down four batters. 

Holmes nomination is the second of her career as she was selected for the national poll April 5, 2017 and went on to win the vote. 

Suffolk and Holmes are set to open the home and GNAC portion of it scheduled Saturday, March 24 as Rivier is set to visit East Boston Memorial Park. Weather pending, first pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
