Softball Takes Two From Rivier On Thursday

The Suffolk University Softball team swept a Great Northeast Athletic conference (GNAC) doubleheader over the Rivier University Raiders on Thursday.

Freshman Devlin Frost (Tewksbury, Mass.) was a combined 5-for-7 with two home runs and six RBI on the day.

Suffolk took game one 7-6 before closing out the sweep with a 10-4 win in game two.

Frost's three run home run in the sixth inning put Suffolk ahead 6-4 as they would hold on for the victory in the opener. Frost hit a line drive in the left center gap and was able to get around the bases as sophomore Lindsay Pagano (Wyckoff, N.J.) and freshman Paiga Kawai (Aiea, Hawaii) also came around the score.

Pagano finished game one going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while junior Meredith Ball (Nahant, Mass.) also collected two hits.

Suffolk would put together a 14-hit attack in game two highlighted by inside the park home runs by both Ball and Frost.

Frost finished the nightcap going 3-for-4 while once again driving in three runs.

Both Eucalitto and fellow classmate Delaney Sylvester (Worcester, Mass.) drove in two runs each with doubles as part of a five run first inning for Suffolk.

The wins move Suffolk to a 11-5 overall record on the season as they have won seven of eight GNAC contests on the year.

They will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Lasell College at American Legion Playground in East Boston beginning at noon.
