Erin McAndrews Named GNAC Player of the Week

Senior Erin McAndrews (Marblehead, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Player of the Week on Monday March 17.

McAndrews had a monster week as part of the Rebel Spring Games during their annual spring trip to Clermont, Florida. She hit at a .571 clip on the week (16-for-28) in an eight game span for the Rams. Nine of McAndrews' 16 hits went for extra bases (five doubles, four triples) as she compiled a 1.036 slugging percentage. McAndrews had back to back 4-for-4 games, including Suffolk's 7-2 victory over Skidmore College on Friday. That game, McAndrews finished just a home run shy of the cycle as she drove in four runs with two singles, a double and a triple. She finished the week driving in seven runs while also scoring seven times for Suffolk.

McAndrews is starting off the new season right where she left off in 2013. Last season, McAndrews was a second team Northeast All-Region selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and was also named the GNAC's Player of the Year.
