Boston, MA - The Suffolk University Softball team (21-16, 17-7 GNAC) swept a double header on Sunday as they wrapped up the GNAC regular season by defeating the Mount Ida Mustangs (10-24, 6-16 GNAC), 11-1 and 9-1. With the wins the Rams have secured third place in the final standings and will move on to play in the quarterfinals on Friday at St. Joseph's College of Maine. Suffolk will play the winner of Tuesday's  matchup between Lasell College and Rivier.

The Rams had little trouble on Sunday as they put up 15 hits in game one and added another 13 in game two. Suffolk's 2-3-4 hitters in the lineup combined to go 14 for 17 in the two games. Senior Marie Trainor (Winthrop, MA) led the way as she added her fifth home run of the year in game one and finished the day with six hits, including two doubles and four RBI. Senior Jess Ferriera (Cambridge, MA) was a perfect 4 for 4 on the day, and freshman Karina Bolster (Carlisle, PA) had four hits. Senior Rachel Misuraca (Gloucester, MA) picked up two hits in the second game, including a 2-run double to left in the fifth inning.

Freshman Liz Galvin (Medway, MA) picked up her team-best 10th win of the season on the mound in game one.  Galvin allowed one run on four hits, striking out three. Freshman Carissa Roche (Swampscott, MA) was the winner in the second game. Roche now moves to 8-5 for Suffolk.
