Hirschfeld Fires No-No as Rams Take Double Header

New Haven, CT - Freshman Brooke Hirschfeld (Winchester, MA) threw a no-hitter as Suffolk defeated Albertus Magnus in Game 2 of a double header tonight in New Haven, Connecticut. Hirschfeld struck out six and only allowed one hit to pick up the first win of her collegiate career.

The Rams picked up 12 hits in the win, including five extra base hits and took advantage of five Falcons' errors. Senior Kellie Hurlock (East Lyme, CT) finished the game 3-3 with two RBI, while senior Jess Ferreira (Cambridge, MA) was 3-4, including a triple.

The Rams were dominant all day, as they took care of Albertus 13-0 in the first game. Freshman Elizabeth Galvin (Medway, MA) only allowed one hit and struck out seven to pick up the win.

Freshman Karina Bolster (Carlisle, PA) was 4-4 with two doubles and two RBI, and senior Jess Ferreira (Cambridge, MA) was 2-3 with a triple scoring three times and knocking in three runs.

The double header was the first GNAC games of the season for the Rams who will host Johnson & Wales tomorrow at Rotch Field, in Boston at 4:00 pm in another GNAC doubleheader.
