Men’s Cross County Quartet Earns All-CCC

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Four members of the Suffolk men's cross country team raced to All-CCC honors at the 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships on the campus of Gordon College Saturday, Oct. 28. Tim BarryHayden GreenThomas Novy and Luke Sikora all propelled the Rams to their third consecutive runner-up finish at the conference meet.

The four all-league distinctions in a single season marks a Rams record, upstaging the previous mark of three all-conference accolades Suffolk secured in its first year in the CCC in 2021 and in its final year in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), 2019.

To pick up All-CCC distinction, a student-athlete must secure a spot in the top-15 at the conference championship.

Novy and Green both picked up their second All-CCC nods to become the first Rams to have multiple all-conference distinctions from the CCC. Novy, a junior from Simsbury, Connecticut, paced the blue-and-gold pack as he came through the finisher's chute in 26:32.6 to capture fifth in the 125-runner field. Green, who brought his talents to Boston from Redondo Beach, California, repeated as an all-league performer with a 12th-place performance thanks to a time of 27:01.4.

Senior Barry, who calls Westborough, Massachusetts home, was four spots behind Novy and three ahead of Green in ninth as he clocked a 26:42.6 8k.

Sikora, a Chicago, Illinois product, crossed the tape just three seconds after Green, but was three spots after his teammate to round out the top-15.

With the four new all-conference nods, Suffolk has put 19 awards on its shelf in program history, 10 from the CCC and nine during its GNAC tenure. All, but two all-league recognitions have come under Will Feldman's guidance.

When broken down, a Ram has earned CCC Runner of the Year, CCC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and GNAC Runner of the Year once with two blue-and-gold runners racing to GNAC Rookie of the Years. Seven student-athletes have combined for eight All-CCC selections, with six All-GNAC honorees, four first-team and two second-team.

The Rams will now turn their attention to the NCAA East Regionals that Suffolk will host this Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Hopkinton Fair Grounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
