Men’s Cross Country Moves Up to Seventh in East in USTFCCCA Rankings

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk men's cross country jumped up to seventh in the East in the week 7 edition of the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the national organization announced.  

The Rams moved up one spot after finishing as the runner-up at the 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships over the weekend. 

Suffolk has yet to miss a regional poll since its debut in week one of the 2021 campaign. This season, the blue-and-gold is the only CCC program to appear in the East regional rankings. Roger Williams has been a staple in the Mideast rankings this year since Week 3. 

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team's strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determine a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.  

Suffolk men's cross country returns to action next weekend, Saturday, Nov. 11 at the NCAA East Regionals, which the Rams are hosting at Hopkinton Fair Grounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
