Men’s Cross Country Moves Down to Seventh in East in USTFCCCA Rankings

USTFCCCA RANKING

NEW ORLEANS – After a week idle, Suffolk men's cross country dipped to seventh in the East in the latest United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, the national organization announced Tuesday.

The Rams slipped one spot from a program-best sixth, which they held since Sept. 16, 2023.

Suffolk has not missed a regional poll since its debut in week one of the 2021 campaign. This season, the blue-and-gold is the only CCC program to appear in the regional rankings.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team's strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.

Suffolk has its final tune-up before the CCC Championships coming up this weekend in the Suffolk Invitational Saturday, Oct. 14. The action at Franklin Park will also serve as a head-to-head meet with Emerson, the Battle for Boston Commons.
