Barry, Maloney to Captain Men’s Cross Country in 2023

BOSTON – Suffolk men's cross country will be under the leadership of senior co-captains Tim Barry and Kely Maloney in 2023 head coach Will Feldman announced.

Barry returns to his post after earning the captain title a year ago, while Maloney takes on the position for the first time in his collegiate career. The members of Suffolk's Class of 2024 are the third set of captains in the Feldman era.

"Tim did an excellent job as a captain for us last year and showed tremendous growth, which shows in his competitive spirit and passion," Feldman said.

"Kely to me is the perfect balance to Tim; humble, mild mannered and still every bit as competitive and hard working as Tim."

Feldman continued, "The two of them will be able to make up for each other's blind spots and accentuate their strengths."

With the co-captains at the head of the program, Suffolk aims to capture its first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) crown in program history after back-to-back runner-up finishes.

To get the season underway, the Rams will host and race at the Short Course Classic Friday, Sept. 1 at Franklin Park.
