Men’s Cross Country Moves Up to Eighth in East Region in USTFCCCA Rankings

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk men's cross country jumped up a spot in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings as the Rams are pegged eighth in the East, the national organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Rams moved up one spot after turning in a 13th-place team performance in the 36-team field at the 49th UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable in determining in a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.

Suffolk has yet to miss a poll since making the program debut in week one of the 2021 campaign. The Rams are the only Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) representative to make the list thus far this season.

The blue-and-gold is back in action this weekend as it takes its talents to Brunswick, Maine for the Bowdoin Invitational Saturday, Sept. 24.
