NEW ORLEANS – The Suffolk men's cross country team was awarded for its academic accolades as it earned 2020 All-Academic Award stats, presented by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Thursday afternoon.
This year, with many programs having their seasons cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the qualification for the recognition is a sole academic requirement of a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
Suffolk hit the academic mark with a 3.442 team GPA to take home its fourth straight team academic award. Suffolk was one of just two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) teams on the list that featured 173 NCAA Division programs along with Gordon. The blue-and-gold's team GPA was the 73rd best of the programs recognized. For a full list of honorees, click here.
