Csiki-Fejer Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country

BOSTON – Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men's cross country/track & field team was acknowledged for his efforts on the course and in the classroom with CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

The 2019-20 CoSIDA Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team recognized the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance in the athletic realm and in the classroom.

Csiki-Fejer is one of 11 NCAA Division III competitors in the New England region honored for combined excellence academically and athletically with first-team District 1, which is comprised of Massachusetts and Maine, honors. He is the only represented of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to earn the distinction.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-American distinctions will be selected later this month.

Csiki-Fejer is the youngest Ram to earn the coveted academic honor, earning the feat as a sophomore, and first member of the Suffolk men's cross country/track & field program to do so.

Athletically, he had a standout cross country season. After winning the GNAC in course record-setting fashion, the GNAC Runner of the Year went on to become an all-region honoree and punch his ticket to the NCAAs, another first for not on the Manchester, Missouri, product, but the Suffolk men's team.

In the winter, he led the blue-and-gold to the inaugural GNAC Indoor Track & Field Championship as a three-time GNAC event champion including the anchor of the Distance Medley Relay title clinching team. For his efforts, he was voted as the GNAC Runner of the Year.

Academically, Csiki-Fejer's resume is even more impressive. Over four semesters the Public Policy and Pre-Law major has not faltered in the classroom, maintain a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
