Csiki-Fejer Collects Fourth GNAC Runner of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Suffolk men's cross country's Matyas Csiki-Fejer continued his stellar sophomore season with his fourth GNAC Runner of the Week accolade after capturing the Suffolk Invitational individual title, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Csiki-Fejer earned his four weekly accolade of the season marking the most by a student-athlete since Johnson & Wales' Adam Sachs garnered five in 2016. Suffolk wise, the sophomore's four weekly nods are the most in the Rams' record books, which date through the 2013 campaign.

The Manchester, Missouri native was the first of 245 runners to come through the finisher's chute at the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park. He clocked in the 8k course in 26:03.7 to narrowly top Southern Maine's Yahya Nure, who finished in 26:09.6.

Csiki-Fejer's fourth honor brings the Rams' total to seven weekly accolades in 2019.

Csiki-Fejer and Suffolk take this weekend off to prepare for the 2019 GNAC Championships, which are set for Saturday, Nov. 2 in Standish, Maine on the SJC Course.
