WINTHROP, Mass. – Each week Suffolk men's cross country has competed in 2019 the Rams have been rewarded with conference honors and this Monday was no different as the blue-and-gold swept the GNAC Weekly Awards once again with Matyas Csiki-Fejer garnering runner of the week status and Elijah Dillon taking home rookie of the week the for their performances at the Keene State Invitational, league office announced yesterday.

Csiki-Fejer was the first of 193 runners through the finishers' chute, completing the Owl's 8k course in 25:57.3, 7.01 seconds in front of Brandeis' Mark Murdy. The win marks the second for the Manchester, Missiouri native this season.

Dillon, meanwhile, finished insid ehte top 50 with a 28:12.8 on the stop watch. His 48th place performance was the best among not only the Rams' rookies on the course, but all first-year GNAC runners at the meet as Suffolk was joined by conference counterparts Cobly Sawyer, Regis and Rivier in the Granite State Saturday. Out of all league student-athletes on the course, Dillon, who calls Brandford, Connecticut home, finished sixth.

The pair of Rams anchored Suffolk's squad to a ninth place performance in the field of 16.

In 2019, four Suffolk student-athletes have combined for six weekly accolades. Csiki-Fejer is responsible for half of those honors as the sophomore has been tabbed the best runner over a seven day stretch each week he has been active this fall. Overall in his career, Csiki-Fejer has been named the league's runner of the week four times. Dillon is the third Ram to receive rookie recognition with Cole Bolduc and Guilaume Glaudel earning the feat Sept. 4 and Sept. 23, respectively.

Suffolk has a week of rest before hosting the Suffolk Invitational and the Battle for Boston Common Saturday, Oct. 19 at Franklin Park.
