Men’s Cross Country Wins at Raiders Invitational

NASHUA, N.H. – Two Suffolk runners finished in the top ten to help guide the Suffolk men's cross country team to first place at the Raiders Invitational on the campus of Rivier Friday afternoon. 

Suffolk's top performance of the day came from Paulo Guedes, who was the first athlete to cross the line. Running with the front pack throughout the 8k, the junior culminated a strong day with a sixth-place showing, thanks to a 5:51 pace and a total time of 29:03. Guedes' classmate David Campisano, who also rank with the front of the pack, was the next Ram through the finishing shoot, just two seconds behind Guedes' pace, clocking in at 29:12 in eight place. 

Stephen Smart and Ruben Torres finished one right after another. Smart came in 21st in 35:24 with Torres crossing 49 seconds later in 22nd. 

Matthew Garrison rounded out the Suffolk contingent. 

The Rams return to action Saturday, Sept. 24 when they see the course at Franklin Park for the first of three times this season when Suffolk competes in the Codfish Bowl.
