Cross-Country Runs at James Early Invitational

The Suffolk University Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams both participated in the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State College this weekend.

On the men's side, freshman Timothy Webber (Littleton, MA) was the Rams top finisher. Webber finished the 8k in a time of 32:17 as he placed 175 out of 253 runners. Sophomore Justin Mark (Dartmouth, MA) was right behind him with a time of 32:19, while freshman Andrew McDonald (Sandwich, MA) was the third Rams' runner to complete the race with a time of 34:19. Suffolk did not have enough races finish the race to place. UMass-Dartmouth won the race with a team total of 72 points, while Jonathan Joyce of Westfield State College finished with the best individual time of 26:22.

For the women, freshman Emily Farr (Ithaca, NY) was Suffolk's top finisher with a time of 24:53. Freshman Christina Webster (Wallingford, CT) was the only other Suffolk runner to complete the 5k race. Webster came in at 36:14. Kerry Arouca of Westfield State was the best individual runner with a time of 18:57. The University of Southern Maine had the best team total with 58 points.

The Rams will be back on the race course on Friday as they compete in the Emmanuel College Invitational.
