Cross-Country Runs at Travis Fuller Invitational

Buzzards Bay, MA - The Suffolk University Men's Cross-Country team placed sixth in the Travis Fuller Invitational at Mass. Maritime Academy on Saturday.  The Rams top five runners combined for a total of 169 points. Suffolk was one of nine teams competing in the race. Freshman John Blazo (Pembroke, MA) had the Rams best time of 32:19 in the five-mile race for a placement of 28. Sophomore Justin Mark (Dartmouth, MA) was right behind him at 30 with a finish of 32:41. Freshman Matthew Bly came in 33rd at 33:26 while freshman Timothy Webber (Littleton, MA)  was at 34 with a time of 33:42. Freshman Clayton Feener (Indianapolis, IN) placed 44 with a time of 39:40, sophomore Corey Allen (Marietta, GA) placed 48 with a time of 43:23 and freshman Davidson McGuffie (Mattapan, MA) placed 53 with a time of 55:17. Host Mass. Maritime won the race with a total of 48 points.  Junior Rob Edsall of the US Merchant Marines academy finished with the best individual time of 28:27.

Suffolk Women's Cross-Country team also competed in the invitational. The Rams had three runners cross the finish line, but did not qualify as a team for placement in the race. Freshman Emily Farr (Ithaca, NY) had the best individual time for the Rams with a time of 23:10, she finished 23rd amongst all runners. Sophomore Megan Scully  (North Kingstown, RI) finished the 5k race with a time of 23:44, 31st among races and freshman Christina Webber (Wallingford, CT) finished 67th overall crossing the finish line at 35:59. GNAC counterpart Emmanuel College won the meet with a team total of 62 points, while Emerson junior Cat Viglienzoni had the best individual time at 20:13.

The Rams will be back running next Friday as the travel to Nashua, NH for the Daniel Webster College Invitational.
