Men 4th, Perron Second in Daniel Webster meet

Suffolk University Women's Cross-Country team had two runners finish in the top five placements at the Daniel Webster Invitational despite falling to Newbury College who captured the team title with 34 points.

Freshman Rachel Perron (Gardner, MA) finished the race in second place with a time of 21:07 trailing Heather Searles (Henniker, N.H.) of New Hampshire Technical Institute who took the individual title with a course record time of 19:10.

Junior Anna Birdsall (Sea Girt, NJ) finished in fifth place with a time of 23:11. Rounding out the top twenty- five finishers for Suffolk were freshmen, Meghan Scully (North Kingstown, RI) and Elora Herberick (New Milford, CT).

On the men's side, the Rams finished with five runners in the top 25, but finished in fourth place overall on total points with 79. The Daniel Webster Eagles edged out Mitchell College for first place winning their own second consecutive course invitational. The Mariners posted 50 points, while New Hampshire Technical Institute was third (74), Suffolk University was fourth (79) and Newbury placed fifth (80).

Rounding out the top twenty-five runners for Suffolk were Junior, Dan Hasson (Marlboro, MA) who finished in eighth place with a time of 30:32. Senior, Matthew Stas (Kingston, MA) was right behind him in ninth place with a time of 30:42. Sophomore, Craig Rubis (Edmonton, Alberta) placed 18th, freshman, Matt Noonan (Tolland, CT), finished in 20th, and Junior, Brian Harrington (Manchester, NH) placed 24th.
