
BOSTON – After competing in their season opener at Bridgewater State this past weekend, the Suffolk men's and women's outdoor track teams will send their athletes to the Dussault Track in Somerville, Mass. for the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday, April 2 at 12 p.m.

The Suffolk men's track team pulled back the curtain on the 2022 season at the BSU Bears Invitation at Swenson Field on the campus of Bridgewater State Saturday, March 26.

LAST TIME OUT [ WOMEN ]
The Suffolk women's outdoor track and field team commenced its 2022 season, taking on teams of the NCAA's three divisions at the BSU Bears Invitational at Swenson Field on the campus of Bridgewater State on Saturday.

THE FIELD
Over 25 teams will converge in Somerville Saturday. Suffolk will be joined by its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterparts Endicott, Gordon, the University of New England and Wentworth.
Additional foes include Amherst, Babson, Brandeis, Colby Sawyer, Connecticut College, Fitchburg State, Franklin Pierce, Husson, Lesley, MIT, Mount Holyoke, New Paltz State, Plymouth State, RPI, Simmons, Smith, Trinity, Tufts, UMass Boston, Wesleyan and Wheaton.
SUFFOLK SYNOPSIS
In one of the most competitive meets of the outdoor season, Suffolk's field athletes will being making their debuts, while the top Rams will be contesting their primary events.
RAMS IN THE HUNT FOR REGIONALS
Suffolk will have multiple athletes contending to clinch their spot at regionals:
- Tim Barry and Matyas Csiki-Fejer in the 1500
- Selvin Backert and Cole Bolduc will make two laps around the track in the 800, while Robert Solari will make one loop around the track in the 400
- Brady Sorensen aims to leap his way to regionals in the long jump
- Michael Balestra will be throwing the hammer with Matt Smith set to compete in the discus
- Amanda Walden will be running the 200
- Skyler Spanbauer will be pacing herself in the 10k
- Grace Danahey, Catherine Brown, and Nicole DiBenedetto are set to leap in the high jump
- Lauren Wood is set to represent the Rams in the long jump
- Field event wise, Allison Rodrigues will set her sights on the javelin, while Caitlyn Filloramo takes on the hammer and Gracie O'Connell rounds out the trio in the discus
WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk's schedule has two events next weekend. The Rams will first compete at the Regis Spring Invite Friday, April 8 with Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Invite the following day, Saturday, April 9.
