
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Over the weekend, a pair of members of the Suffolk men's indoor track & field team posted personal-best at the USATC New England Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Gordon Indoor Track at Harvard.
Both records were reset in the mile. Kely Maloney ran a career-high 4:27.47, while Michael Najarian posted a 5:12.07 personal-best. Maloney's time was good for ninth in the 76-runner field that also featured Sean Jacobsen(4:38.83), Declan Shannon (4:48.38), and Jacob Dubin (4:49.79).
Suffolk blue-and-gold was featured in two other long distance events. The trio of Jadan Wenceslao (9:32.50), Connor Hayward (9:34.22) and Jacob Dubin (9:50.600 ran the 3000, while Hayden Green took 10th in the 5000 with a time of 15:39.39.
Michael Nossek secured sixth in the 60 with a 7.00 effort. Brendan Eddy clocked a 7.74 in the event.
That twosome also competed in the 200. Nossek's time of 23.31, was good for 11th. Eddy, meanwhile, finished the half lap in 25.56. Ioan Pereira (24.40) and Cormac O'Brien represented the Ram in the event as well.
Joshua Durand put together a 52.63 in the 400, good for seventh. Tighe Hosman (54.57), Pereira (55.21) and O'Brien (59.06) all made a full lap around the track.
Hosman assembled a fourth-place performance in the 60 hurdles thanks to an 8.94 time.
The foursome of Durand, Nossek, Hosman and Nathan Fernandes combined for a third-place effort in the 4x400 with a time of 3:46.14.
Michael Makiej cleared 1.88 meters in the high jump, good for fifth.
Michael Frodelius (5.50m) and Clinton Oreofe (5.39m) competed in the long jump. The former finished third in the triple jump as well with a 12.00m mark.
For throwers, Connor Brown competed in the shot put (9.30m) and Elijah Brown participated in the weight throw (11.71).
Suffolk's sights now turn to the regionals for the Rams that qualified for the NCAA Division III New England Championships, which are on tap this weekend, Feb. 28 through March 1 at the Track.
