
MEDFORD, Mass. - Two members of Suffolk's men's indoor track & field headed to the Gantcher Field House at Tufts to compete at at the Tufts Cupid Challenege. Nico Carrillo made history as the first student-athlete in University history to participate in the heptathlon, while Joshua Catino participated in the pole vault.
Catino, a junior from Wakefield, Massachusetts, cleared 3.58 meters in the pole vault to slid into sixth in the event's standing.
Carrillo, a freshman from Warwick, New York, competed across seven events -- 60 (7.59), 1000 (3:22.11), 60 hurdles (9.49), high jump (1.66), pole vault (3.00), long jump (5.74) and shot put (10.43) -- for a 15th place performance in the heptathlon.
