BOSTON – Suffolk men's indoor track & field saw six Rams rewrite personal records at the River Hawk Invitational over the weekend at the Track at New Balance.
NEW ENGLAND QUALIFIERS
- Tim Barry and Michael Makiej earned their spots at New Englands in the 800 and high jump, respectively.
RAMS RECORDS
- On top of punching his ticket to regionals, Barry rewrote the program's and his own personal-best in the 800 with a time of 1:54.13.
- Like Barry, Makiej put together a career-best and program-best showing in the high jump as he cleared 1.91 meters.
- Nathan Fernandes (200), Joshua Durand (400), Kely Maloney (1000), and Thomas Novy (mile) all notched personal records in their respective events.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Barry made two laps around the track in the 800 in 1:54.13, good for sixth in the 74-runner field.
- Durand sprinted the 60 in 7.56.
- Fernandes finished the 200 in career-high time of 23.70.
- Durand claimed 16th in the 400 behind a PR time of 52.21. Fernandes also made on lap around the track and compiled a 54.13 showing.
- Maloney (2:41.52) and Patrick Lambe (2:45.17) both ran the 1000.
- Novy paced the Suffolk contingent in the mile with a 4:23.00 PR. Sean Jacobsen (4:42.18), Connor Hayward (4:45.90), Declan Shannon (4:49.36) and Hayden Green (8:54.39) raced the event as well.
- Jadan Wenceslao produced a 9:35.45 in the 3k.
RAMS RELAYS
- Maloney, Jacobsen, Green and Barry combined for a 3:39.91 in the 4x400.
JUMPERS JIST
- Makiej took 20th in the high jump with a 1.91-meter showing.
