BOSTON – Suffolk men's indoor track & field closed out its fall semester schedule at the Beacon Invitational Sunday at the Track at New Balance Invitational.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Four Rams were featured in the 28-sprinter 60-meter dash field in Michael Nossek (7.29), Ioan Pereira (7.49), Brendan Eddy (7.76) and Corman O'Brien (7.88). Nossek claimed fifth to lead the Suffolk' contingent in the event.
- Nossek (24.22), Pereira (24.60), Eddy (25.39) and O'Brien (26.05) all competed in the 200 as well and were joined by Michael Frodelius (25.07). Once again Nossek led the group with a sixth-place showing. Pereira and Frodelius finished in the top-10 as well in ninth and 10th, respectively.
- Tighe Hosman made one lap around the track in 55.86 to take 11th in the 400.
- Matthew McGoldrick captured eighth in the 800 behind a time of 2:19.30.
- Patrick Lambe claimed fourth in the 1000 with a 2:50.53 showing.
- Michael Najarian ran the mile in 5:18.08 to finish in the middle of the 16-runner field.
HURDLES HAVE TO KNOW
- Suffolk had two rookies in the 60 hurdles.
- Hosman took fifth with a 9.13.
- Carrillo captured 10th with a 9.53.
RAMS RELAYERS
- The Rams had two relay scores in the 4x200.
- Suffolk's 'A' squad of Joshua Durand, Carrillo, Hosman and Nossek slid into second with a time of 1:35.35.
- The blue-and-gold's 'B' team comprised of Pereira, Frodelius, O'Brien and Eddy combined for a 1:38.49.
JUMPERS JIST
- Michael Makiej secured second in the high jump as he cleared 1.85 meters. Carrillo claimed fifth with a 1.65 meter jump.
- In the pole vault, Joshua Catino (3.35) and Malachi Jones (2.90) represented the Rams.
- Clinton Oreofe (5.63) and Frodelius (5.61) participated in the long jump.
THROWERS THOUGHTS
- Carrillo (10.20) and Connor Brown (8.79) competed in the shot put.
- Elijah Brown secured second in the weight throw with a 13.17-meter heave.
RAMS RECORDS
- The foursome of Durand, Carrillo, Hosman and Nossek combined for a school-record 4x200 time of 1:35.35.
- Makiej jumped to a school-record of 1.85 in the high jump.
- Pereira produced a personal-best in the 60, 7.49.
- O'Brien notched a career-high in the 60 of 7.88
YOU'RE NEW HERE
- Nosske (60, 200), O'Brien (60, 200), Hosman (400, 60 hurdles), Carillo (60 hurdles, shot put), Makiej (high jump, pole vault), Clinton Oreofe (long jump), Connor Brown (shot put) and Malachi Jones (pole vault) and Elijah Brown (weight throw) all made their collegiate debuts.
- Frodelius competed the 200 for the first time in his collegiate career.

Suffolk is idle until after the New Year when it hosts and competes in the Suffolk Ice Breaker Invitational at the Track.
