Men’s Indoor Track & Field Wraps Up First Semester at Joe Donahue Games

BOSTON – Suffolk men's indoor track & field capped of its first semester schedule Saturday night at Northeastern's Joe Donahue Games at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Connor Baston was the only Rams runner to compete in two different events, donning the blue-and-gold in the 60-meter dash and the 200. In both events the freshman produced personal-record times, -- 7.32 in the 60 (24th) and 23.40 in the 200 (23rd) -- both of which are good for top marks in the GNAC this season, as well as Top 25 finishes across NCAA Division III this year.

Joshua Smith joined Baston in the 200, running the half lap in 25.19, to claim 45th.

Robert Solari and Connor Abbotoni each participated in the 500. The former finished 11th with a time of 1:08.61, while the latter clocked in in 1:10.04, good for 14th.

Four different Rams raced the mile: Justin Turner (22nd – 4:43.36), Hunter Toyoda (27th – 4:50.72), Elijah Dillon (32nd – 4:59.98) and Keoni Geers (33rd – 5:00.19).

Michael Balestra was Suffolk's only field athlete at the event. The sophomore made history as the first-ever Ram to break the 50-foot barrier mark in the weight throw with a. 15.30-meter toss, good for sixth in the 26-competitor field.

Suffolk will be sidelined for the next month before and will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Tufts Invitational.
