BOSTON – Suffolk men's tennis takes a break from Conference of New England (CNE) competition Thursday, March 27 when it visits Rhode Island College for a 3:30 p.m. first serve.

Suffolk men's tennis was tripped up by Western New England, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Forest Park Tennis Courts.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk sits 0-4 on the year with setbacks to Colby Sawyer (7-0), UMass Boston (5-2), Emerson (7-0) and Western New England (6-1).  

All of the Rams points have come in singles play off three different racquets in Abhi Patel (1-3), Sein Kim (1-3) and Henry Blanchard (1-3). Patel plays on the top of the ladder, Kim is on courts three or four with Blanchard rounding out the trio on the lower half of the ladder. Mehdi Mered has played the most time as the blue-and-gold's ace and is 0-3 on the year. 

Mered and Patel have combined forces to make up the top tandem the most. Suffolk has yet to record a doubles win this season.  

ANCHORMEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Rhode Island College brings a 1-1 mark into Thursday's tilt with a both matches against Suffolk's CNE counterparts Wentworth and Curry. RIC fell to the Leopards, 5-2, and swept the Colonels, 7-0. 

Noah Morin is the Anchormen's ace and is 1-1 through the first two outings. Travis Chartier boasts an unblemished 2-0 ledger in the second singles spot. Ethan Clegg and Kyle Neuendorf are also unbeaten in singles play with identical 1-0 marks on courts three and five, respectively. 

Morin and Chartier have played both matches as the top doubles team. They sport a 1-1 record. Clegg and Gouin, meanwhile are 1-0 in their doubles match as the second team. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk leads the all-time series dating back to 2009, 8-5. 
  • Suffolk looks to snap a five-match skid against RIC. 
  • The Rams last victory over the Anchormen came via an 8-1 decision March 29, 2016. 
  • The blue-and-gold has never defeated Rhode Island College under Scott Blanchard's guidance. The Rams are 0-3 versus the Anchormen in the Blanchard era. 
  • There have been two shutouts in the series since 2009.
