TEMPE, Ariz. – The Suffolk men's tennis team and six players – Conor Duggan, Matthew Gallego, Nicholas Komari, Prakhar Singh-Sisodia, Sam Kluger and Sein Kim – picked up academic accolades from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Rams were named an All-Academic Team, while the six student-athletes earned Scholar-Athlete distinction, the national organization announced.
Each season the ITA recognizes students who maintain a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and earn varsity letter status.
All six of Suffolk's honorees scooped up the distinction for the first time in their collegiate careers.
The six honorees are the most in a single season for Suffolk in the program's history. Overall, the blue-and-gold has seen 21 student-athletes combine for 25 ITA Scholar-Athletes in its history book and has seen at least one Ram take home the feat in each of the last six seasons.
In 2024, 1,079 Division III student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes including 21 representatives from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) with Curry (4), Endicott (6) and Roger Williams (5) joining the Rams on the national list. Team wise, the blue-and-gold's racket picked up the program academic accolade for the first time since 2023 and fourth time overall.
To be named an ITA All-Academic team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above on 4.0 scale and all varsity letterwinners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. Suffolk's 14-player roster compiled a 3.467 GPA.
Suffolk is one of two CCC squads to be acknowledge for its academic excellence with Endicott joining the Rams on the 129-school list of NCAA Division III institutions that received the recognition this year. For a complete list of 2022-23 honorees, click here.
