Esrawi Earns CSC Academic All-District

CSC RELEASE

BOSTON – Hasan Esrawi of the Suffolk men's tennis team picked up College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the national organization announced Tuesday.

Awarded by CSC, formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), to the most accomplished student-athletes for combined academic and athletic achievements each year since 1952, this is the longest-running and most prestigious academic and athletic award for student-athletes to receive.

The 2023 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. All nominees must have a GPA of at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), be a starter or important reserve, and have competed in at least 50 percent of a team's competition.

Esrawi is the first Ram in the men's tennis record books to earn the recognition. Men's and women's tennis has fallen under the at-large umbrella for CSC Academic All-District until this year.

With the addition of Esrawi, Suffolk now has 43 academic all-district distinctions in its history from the CSC dating back to 2004, 32 of which have come over the last seven seasons including 19 in 2022-23 alone.

Esrawi was joined by Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterparts Nichols (3), Gordon (2), Curry (1) and Roger Williams (1) on the list. Overall, 339 NCAA Division III men's tennis players took home the feat in 2022-23.

The senior finance major carried a 3.608 GPA, while captaining the men's tennis team to its first Commonwealth Coast Conference postseason berth in program history.

Esrawi and his fellow Academic All-District honorees now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 1. For a full list of CSC Academic All-District teams, click here.
