Men’s Tennis Slotted Eighth in CCC Preseason Poll

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk men's tennis has been projected to finish eighth in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Preseason Poll after a vote by the league's nine head coaches, the league office announced Thursday.

The blue-and-gold earned 17 points to seal up the eighth spot and finish ahead of Curry (12).

Nichols, winners of nine of the last 10 CCC Men's Tennis Tournament titles, was perfect in conference competition a year ago and six head coaches predict that the Bison will repeat as CCC Champs.

Roger Williams, the 2022 CCC Men's Tennis Runner-Rup, has been selected to repeat as second-place finishers as the Hawks earned the remaining three first place picks for 74 points, just three behind the Bison.

Endicott (61) and Gordon (51) fell in the third and fourth slots, respectively, while Salve Regina and Western New England shared fifth with 39 points each.

Wentworth was four points behind the Seahawks and Golden Bears to land in the seventh spot.

Suffolk is 21 days away from its 2023 debut, a Thursday, March 23 tilt at the Saint Joseph (Conn.). The Rams enter their second season under head coach Scott Blanchard and aim to make their first CCC postseason push in program history.
