Men’s Tennis Pair Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Honor

BOSTON – Suffolk men's tennis saw two student-athletes rewarded for academic accomplishments for the first time since 2018 as Hasan Esrawi and Dylan Katz picked up Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete status, the national organization announced.

Each season, the ITA recognizes students who maintain a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and earn varsity letter status. The two are the first Rams to pick up the feat since Ariel Ilarslan Russo and Rami Esrawi did so in 2018.

Esrawi and Katz are just two of 16 GNAC student-athletes recognized by the national organization. Eastern Nazarene led the way with eight nods, Regis had three, Johnson & Wales picked up a pair and Colby Sawyer had one. Overall, nearly 1,000 student-athletes took home the distinction.
