HOW IT HAPPENED
The Anchormen grabbed an early 2-1 lead on the doubles courts by grabbing points at No. 3 and No. 2 respectively. The Rams' tandem of Mike DeFelice and Chris Parnagian responded and got Suffolk on the board as the junior and senior downed Rhode Island's Alex Bourque and Alan Esposito, 8-3, in the first slot.
The Rams could not carry their momentum into singles play, however as Rhode Island locked up the match with wins on courts four, five, and six.
With the match already in hand, the hosts added two more wins on courts two and three, before DeFelice made his mark in the first spot. The junior needed three sets to pick up a singles victory, the only Ram to earn a win on the day, as he defeated Bourque 5-7, 6-3, 7-6.
