Men’s Tennis Drops 5-4 Thriller at UMass Dartmouth

BOSTON – The Suffolk men's tennis team suffered a 5-4 setback at UMass Dartmouth Tuesday at the UMD Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the first time this season, Suffolk gained a 2-1 advantage after doubles play with wins on the second and third court, respectively. 

Omar Azzaoui grabbed a singles win in the second spot to put Suffolk up 3-1. The Corsairs charged back, however, winning four of the final five matches to setback Sufffolk, 5-4. 

SUFFOLK STANDOUTS

  • Azzaoui went undefeated on the day. After teaming with Chris Parnagian for an 8-3 doubles win at No. 2, the freshman was the first to finish a singles match, defeating Anthony Joseph, 6-4, 6-3, in the second singles slot.
  • Kevin Greenman also went 2-0 on the night. He partnered with Rami Ewrawi for an 8-5 on the third doubles court. In singles, Greenman grabbed a 6-3, 6-4, decision at No. 6 over Summer Forest-Bulley.

Suffolk takes tomorrow off to prep for its Thursday, April 13 match at Salem State. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
