Men's Tennis Earns Second Consecutive Win, Defeats RIC 8-1

BOSTON - The Suffolk men's tennis team earned its second win in a row with an 8-1 victory over Rhode Island College Tuesday night at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols.

The triumph marked the Rams' eight consecutive in matches against the Anchormen as Suffolk is now 8-0 when competing with Rhode Island over the past eight seasons, according to the Rams' record books which date back to 2009.

Suffolk started off Tuesday's match by sweeping the Anchormen in doubles as the pairs of Francesco Saia and Alonso Vela, Jacob Duggan and Chris Parnagian, and Rami Esrawi and Anton Boubnov all recorded victories. 

This was the second win of the season for the Saia and Vela duo, as well as for the pair of Esrawi and Boubnov, while Duggan and Parnagian notched their first victory of the 2016 campaign. 

The Rams went on to go 5-1 in singles play with Vela, Saia, Parnagian, Kevin Clavijo and Boubnov tallying wins.

Suffolk will return to action Thursday evening as it hosts the Beacons of UMass Boston at 7 p.m.
