Men's Tennis Win Third Straight

The Suffolk University Men's Tennis team won their third straight match on Tuesday evening with a 6-3 victory over the Rhode Island College Anchormen.

Senior Marc Winkler (Caracas, Venezuela) won the top singles game with 6-1, 6-0 victories.

Winker was one of four Suffolk players to earn multiple wins on the evening for Suffolk who move to 3-0 to start the 2015 season.

Junior Calixto Romero (Lima, Peru) was a winner in the second singles spot with consecutive 6-1 set scores.

Winkler and Romero combined for an 8-3 win in doubles action.

Suffolk took the first four singles games and top two doubles contests on Tuesday.

Freshman Alonso Vela (Chelsea, Mass.) and sophomore Francesco Saia (Wakefield, Mass.) partnered for an 8-3 doubles victory in the number two spot.

Vela was a winner in the third individual game as he won by back to back 6-4 sets.

Saia took game four by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.

Suffolk will be back in action on Thursday afternoon when they travel to UMass Boston in non-league action.
