Babson Halts Tennis' Win Streak
The Babson College men's tennis team continued to be the lone thorn in Suffolk University's side on Tuesday, as the Beavers defeated the visiting Rams, 7-2, in a non-conference match at the Farwell Courts. Snapping a four-match losing streak, Babson improved to 5-10 on the year, while Suffolk lost for the first time this season to drop to 9-1.

Having ended the Rams' 24-match win streak with a 6-3 triumph last year, the Beavers have now handed Suffolk its only two losses over the last three seasons.

After the two teams split matches at first and third doubles, the Babson tandem of junior Zach Ringer (Minnetonka, Minn.) and first-year Roy Murdock (Santa MOnica, Calif.) came up with a key 9-8 (5) victory at number two to swing the momentum the Beavers' way. The hosts then took five of the six singles match - three of which came in three sets - to secure the overall win. Sophomore Hubert Cromback (Cambridge, Mass.) joined Ringer with straight-set victories at fourth and fifth singles, respectively, while Babson received three-set wins from first-year Ramone Doyley (Kingston, Jamaica) at one, senior captain Danny Schneider (Littleton, Mass.) at three, and sophomore Ferran Arimon (Miami, Fla.) at six.

Senior Christopher Staley (London, England) factored in on both wins for Suffolk, joining first-year Marc Winkler (Caracas, Venezuela) for an 8-3 win at number one doubles and then claiming a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number two singles.
