Men's Tennis Picks Up Seventh Win In a Row

The Suffolk University Rams swept all six singles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over the Salem State Vikings at the Central Campus Tennis Courts on Monday afternoon.

Sean Cullen (Wells, Me.), Chris Staley (London, England), Harlan Strader (Marblehead, Mass.), Hubert Cromback (Paris, France), and Justin Ayoub (Brooklyn, N.Y.) all recorded straight set victories for Suffolk, which improved to 7-0 on the year.

Eglis Bizhoti (Dorchester, MA) and Shawn Dowen (Hudson, MA) recorded the only point for Salem State when they defeated Ayoub and Dachuan Zhu (Beijing, China), 8-3 in third team doubles.

Salem State is now 0-5 on the season.

Cullen and Staley helped give the Rams an early lead in doubles when they defeated Alex Eisath (Renon, Italy) and Josh Giller (Peabody, MA), 8-2 in first doubles.Cullen also defeated Eisath 6-4, 6-2 in first singles while Staley beat Giller 6-2, 6-0 in second singles.

Salem State hosts Western Connecticut in their Little East opener on Wednesday at 3:30 PM. Suffolk travels to Bridgewater State on Thursday for a 3:30 PM match.
