Men's Tennis Take Care of Beacons, 5-4

The Suffolk University Men's Tennis team picked up their fourth straight match win to push their record to 5-2 on the spring as they defeated UMass-Boston, 5-4 on Thursday. Both the Beacons and Rams split singles competition winning three sets a piece, but a 2-1 edge in double plays helped Suffolk earned the victory.

Diego Alvarado, Justin Ayoub, and John Samander were all victorious in singles play. Alvarado picked up his fifth win of the season in the one position defeating Paul Braude; 6-3, 6-3. Ayoub also earned his fifth win in singles play this year as he defeated Ahn-Phi Tran, 6-1 in a tiebreaker.

Christopher Staley and John Samander move to 3-1 on the season in doubles as they picked up an 8-3 win, and Greg Garrison and Nick Pratt paired up for the first time this season to win 9-8.

Suffolk will play again on April 16 as they travel to Bridgewater State College to take on the Bears at 3:30 pm.
