EAST BOSTON, MASS. – Suffolk men's soccer used three second half goals to run past Gordon on Saturday afternoon, 3-0, at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gordon nearly found the opener in the 50th minute, but a diving stop from Nathan Harlow kept the game scoreless.
  • The deadlock was broken in the 59th minute as Christian Gardner played a ball down the right wing into the path of Mohamed Mehaya, who placed his pass across goal to Diego Pierantozzi, who tapped home the opener.
  • Suffolk doubled up its advantage just five minutes later with a bolstering strike from Pierantozzi from outside the box that hit the crossbar and pushed into the back of the net to grab his brace.
  • Suffolk secured its third goal in a ten-minute span when Matthew Belluardo intercepted a ball and headed it into the path of Maxi Fadel, who played a perfectly weighted pass to Gardner, who then chipped the keeper to secure the third goal.

  • Harlow stopped six shots in the contest.
  • Riley Calemmo made five saves in his 69 minutes of action, while Isaiah Diaz secured one save.
