EAST BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer fell behind early and never pulled all the way back as Husson handed the Rams a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.
THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 1 | Husson 2
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-2-1) | Husson (2-0-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk was caught off guard as Husson potted two goals in a 3:00-minute span early in the opening half.
Alejandro Mora struck first with help from Florian Gasser at the 15:02 mark with Carsen Cyr's marker following three minutes later. Mosi Masimango assisted on Cyr's goal.
The Rams managed to get on the board at the 36:43 mark. Dominic Rinaldi intercepted a Husson pass on Suffolk's end of the pitch and sent the ball ahead to Dylan Trachtenberg. A give-and-go between the senior and freshman allowed Rinaldi to dribble the rock down the right sideline where her crossed a ball to a zooming Francisco Valck for a quick, right-footed shot past Garret Jordan to trim the margin down to one, 2-1.
Things remained there at the break despite both teams getting a shot on target over the final seven minutes of the opening half.
Both keepers stopped all three shots they were tested with in the second stanza to keep the score still and hand Suffolk the 2-1 non-conference setback.
