Men’s Soccer Slips to Gordon, 2-1

EAST BOSTON – In a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest that rained from start to finish, Suffolk men's soccer slipped to Gordon, 2-1, Saturday at East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 1 | Gordon 2
RECORDS: Suffolk (9-5-2, 4-2-1 CCC) | Gordon (7-1-6, 3-1-3 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk chased one goal since the 22:25 mark of the first frame when Benji Wright found the back of the twine for the Fighting Scots with help from Adrian Chiang.

Eventually, the Rams figured out Gordon's keeper Gunnar Lucuk when Diego Pierantozzi lofted a pass to Brady Sorsenen, who put away a goal, while sliding to the turf to lock the playing field at 1-all in the 55th minute.

Gordon grabbed the upper hand in the 82nd minute. Luke Lindas centered a pass for Benny Simpson, who's kick deflected off Aidan McLaughlin into the net to give the Fighting Scots a 2-1 lead.

Tommy Handelsman placed a header on target that was turned away by a Fighting Scot defender. That would be Suffolk's last show to even things up as Gordon took control the rest of the way to hold onto the 2-1 final.
