Leo Earns Spot on United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team

2021 UNITED SOCCER COACHES DIVISION III ALL-REGION TEAM

BOSTON – United Soccer Coaches has released its annual Division III All-Region Teams, and for the first time in Suffolk men's soccer history a Ram made the national organization's list as graduate student Nigel Leo represented the blue-and-gold on Region II second-team.

Leo played a massive role in Suffolk's first season in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), earning first-team all-conference honors. The midfielder helped the Rams earn a place in the league's post-season.

The Rancho Palos Verdes, California native earned the all-region honor after leading Suffolk in goals (11) and points (24). He had three games of multiple goals this season, netting a pair against Westfield State, as well as the University of New England and Curry. On the year, he scored against eight of the Rams' 16 opponents. He also lifted the blue-and-gold to victory on four occasions including the game-winner in conference contests against Nichols Oct. 9 (1-0) and Curry Oct. 23 (2-0).

Leo is the first Suffolk player to receive the all-region nod and is one of a dozen student-athletes from the CCC to pick up the accolade this season.
