2019-20 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffolk men's soccer was acknowledged for its work inside the classroom over the 2019-20 year with a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the national organization announced Thursday afternoon.

The Rams picked up the feat for the first time since 2018 and fourth time in the history of the award, which has been handed out to programs who achieve a 3.0 combined grade point average on a 4.0 scale since 1996. For a history of the award, click here.

Overall, 889 college teams – 333 men, 556 women – earned the recognition, including 172 institutions who saw both their men's and women's programs recognized. Suffolk was one of those schools with both genders represented on the list. For a full list of honorees, click here.

Suffolk was just one of two of its former GNAC counterparts to achieve the distinction with Regis representing the GNAC as well. Among its newest league foes, the Rams were one of six Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) programs to grab the nod along with Curry, Endicott, Salve Regina, the University of New England and Western New England.
