EAST BOSTON– A trio of first half goals from Colby Sawyer was too much for Suffolk men's soccer as the Rams fell, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Colby Sawyer got the scoring going in the 13^thminute as Mason Galbato headed the ball past Suffolk keeper Kyle Rosa off of a throw in from deep inside Suffolk's defensive zone, putting the Rams in a 1-0 hole. 

The visitors added to their advantage seven minutes later when Ahamad Raji ran past several Rams defenders on a breakaway and lofted the ball over the outstretched arms of Rosa. Galbato tallied the assist on the play. 

The Chargers continued to pressure the Rams in the middle of the field. In the 29^thminute Raji gained control of the ball off of a Suffolk turnover near midfield and sent a long pass to Callum Buchanan, who sent a low laser into the back of the net to stretch the Chargers lead to 3-0. 

Sal Perrotto started the comeback for the Rams with nine minutes remaining in the first stanza. The junior capitalized on a loose ball in front of the net to trim the deficit to two. 

In the second half both teams remained deadlocked in the early going but Suffolk continued to garner opportunities on net. Jason Castro had a prime chance to cut the Chargers lead to one with just under ten minutes remaining in the contest but Colby Sawyer keeper, Jarod Parkins, thwarted his breakaway chance with a sliding kick save. 

In the 84^thminute Sunjoon Tenorio followed suit. The freshman boxed out several defenders in front of the net on a corner kick but Parkins made the sure handed save to keep the score 3-1. 

The Rams were unable to make up any more ground in the final six minutes of play, falling to the Chargers by a 3-1 margin. 

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

• Rosa turned away one shot. 
• Perkins earned the victory for the Chargers, saving 10 of the 11 shots he faced. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

• The Rams owned a 35-13 advantage in shots, including an 11-4 lead in shots on goal. 
• Suffolk doubled up Colby Sawyer in corners, 10-5. 
• Perrotto accounted for Suffolk's only score of the day. 

NOTEWORTHY

• Prior to first kick, Suffolk honored the playing careers of its seven graduating players: Jarrett Davis, James Fisher, Jackson Hines, Steven Lopez, Christian Restrepo, Mike Skeibar and Simon Velez Angel. 
• Perrotto tallied his first goal of the season.
